Today, DEGI: The Digital Entertainment Group International, in collaboration with BB Media, is pleased to unveil its fifth report on global regions and country deep-dives, focusing on the digital entertainment landscape across LATAM. This comprehensive overview, exclusive to BASE and DEGI members, offers valuable insights into navigating the streaming landscape in LATAM, viewership trends of media and entertainment, content analysis in the region, piracy, advertising trends, and transactional business models.
This fifth report, created by BB Media for DEGI and BASE members, highlights key trends shaping the entertainment landscape in Latin America. The report explores the region’s deep and rich content ecosystem, which now includes 814 unique streaming platforms, 32 of which launched in 2024 alone. The report also examines viewership trends, revealing an average of 14.1 – 17.9 hours of weekly content consumption. Streaming platform penetration is particularly high, averaging over 60% across the region, while pay TV lags behind at under 45%. Across the transactional entertainment market, Prime Video leads with a 40% market share, followed by YouTube and ClaroVideo, while Apple TV holds the largest catalogue in the region.
